Passport Block
Chaminade University of Honolulu’s Passport block aligns with our general education program for all students. Chaminade students take 44-45 credits for the general education, including a capstone experience offered at the upper division level. Students complete courses in foundational areas (written and oral communication, quantitative reasoning and skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of beauty and creation) as well as six values based areas related to our Marianist identity. All students take a culminating capstone course to complete their general education program. Our General education and the resulting Passport block was carefully crafted by the faculty. General education courses are regularly reviewed by a Faculty Senate committee to ensure alignment with the Passport Block.
General education courses are approved by a standing Faculty Senate committee as well as a university level curriculum committee. All courses are routinely included in program review to ensure ongoing quality and alignment with learning outcomes and student success.
